Hmm.. how to begin.. well, first of all, the movie manages to make its way to impress me.
What can I say, the movie was frickin' AWESOME!! Cloudy manages to take the premise
from the classic children’s book and transform it into a madcap comedy that proudly displays
a unique sense of humor.
It has a great story which also combined with a great comedy for adults with subtly mature
humor that felt like it's coming from the Lonely Island crew (These guys are the funniest
mu**afuc** in the world! If you ever seen them perform). During the movie I laughed really
hard among small kids aswell. This is really one of a kind movie. The filmmakers aren't afraid
to push the edge with either the humor or the animation. FYI, the writers and directors of this
movie (Phil Lord & Christopher Miller) was best known for exec producer of the sitcom How I
Met Your Mother, I hadn’t realized that before, but now it makes complete sense. I’m hoping
that Cloudy puts Lord and Miller on the map, because I definitely want to see more from
these guys.
The film’s look itself features a number of splashy, and colorful set-pieces, and if you can see
the film in 3D I would highly recommend it. The design for the character is ridiculously simple
yet very appealing for the audience. And the animation was just GOLD! the animators brings
the character so alive, with it's snappy, funny, really smart direction, which works marvelously
I forgot that I'm watching an animated film. Hats of to the animation crew from Sony Pictures
Animation!! You guys rocks!!
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is the third feature CG film to come out of Sony Pictures
Animation, and it’s good enough to erase the memory of Open Season and Surf’s Up. With
this film, SPA proves that they are a worthy competitor to Dreamworks, BlueSky and possibly
even Pixar I gotta say. Let’s hope that their future releases are just as good or better than
this one.
Film Rating: 9.5 out of 10/ FULL PRICE!!
